Indian Food: Taster Menus

Indian Food Menus

One of the great things about traditional Indian Food is way it incorporates a vast array of spices and exotic flavours into ordinary ingredients, elevating them to something quite special. When dining out in an Indian restaurant it can be hard to choose just one item off an extensive menu, especially when everything sounds so delicious. Fortunately a popular restaurant in Glasgow has found a clever way to please its diners. The Wee Curry Shop on Byres Road and Ashton Lane offer a Wee Tasters menu between 12-2pm. This gives diners the chance to experience a wide range of dishes.

Vegetarians can choose from aubergine fritters, vegetable pakoras and vegetable curry with side dishes of basmati rice, garlic potatoes, chapatti’s and raita. For those wanting to try a mixed thali, there is also a vegetarian version. A mixed thali gives a diner a small selection of dishes that comprise a whole meal including rice, Indian style bread and raita.

For those who love seafood, lamb or chicken there are choices of ginger and green chilli haddock, lamb biryani, chicken karahi and prawn mushrooms. There is also the choice of a mixed thali. What is so nice about the taster menu is that it can give diners who are less experienced with Indian food an opportunity to try it. It also feels like a social way to dine with people deciding to share a selection of dishes between them.
